![]() ![]() If you are against anyone with a brain, you need to rely heavily on hexflash. Ridiculously slow, short ranged and predictable engage. The way her kit works forces you to play in weird ways, but also limits any sort of build diversity (AP is troll on supp budget,AS is expensive) ![]() Something like hexflash>mountup W>E can be tricky for some people. Not quite like Singed, but her playstyle and itemization are weird. She has so many factors that would make someone picking her up in say free rotation say she sucks. Nothing feels worse than losing your team the game with 1 bad flash engage, and on Rell that seems to happen a lot if you aren’t careful. This is different than many other engage supports (Ex: Leona/Naut) who can throw their CC from a distance, making it mush easier to disengage if it fails. Ofc that doesn’t matter if you know for a fact the enemy carries don’t have their flash up, then most of the time you’re safe to flash engage if your team can follow up. Saving your W + R combo for a little bit later in a mid/late game fight after enemy champs have used their mobility/disengage spells makes team-fighting much more consistent. The best way to play rell imo (which i still struggle with) is playing more conservatively. If you flash + W/R in a mid/late game scenario and your target flashes the engage or cancels it, you’re dead and your team probably is too. If you miss W in lane, you’re probably dead. She is the most punishing support if you make a bad engage. I had 2 accs master tier last season basically OTPing Rell and what you described is spot on. Eclipse and Shieldbow still seem to be ok though they just got nerfed as well. Goredrinker is mediocre since it lost the Spite passive, Sunfire is no longer viable since the most recent changes to Skaarl's health bar and I won't even bother explaining the joke that is Stridebreaker. The overabundance of %max health damage and anti-tank items/runes in the game has made his unusually large health pool a liability more times than it is a benefit. Also he has some god awful match-ups (Jax and Fiora) that make him very risky to blind pick. He's a lane bully that scales poorly and, unlike Renekton or Pantheon, doesn't have any reliable CC. ![]() Not Aurelion Sol weird, but the whole dismount/remount mechanic and his W not being an active adds enough complexity to his kit that some players just don't want to deal with it Human characters are far and away more popular than rest, and he's not cute enough to appeal to the cute demographic like Teemo ![]()
